As always, the donuts were delicious. The Strawberry cream & s'mores & custard filled were absolutely perfect, the service was ok, understandably it is a busy donut shop. Will lurve the drive thru donut hole til the day I no longer can go. Wonderful ambiance!
I've been driving by this place for two years! Having moved from Pasadena, it is a very interesting novelty! I finally got brave enough to try it! Mostly because there was not line up of cars! Th sales person was very friendly and welcomed warmly when I told her my story! I tried my favorites, buttermilk, maple bar, and something special the fresh strawberry! They were all delicious and a real special treat! I loved the whole experience of driving thru the donut hole!!!
Always has the best donuts in the area. The classics, the filled ones and then some delicious creations. Service is always great, they are always nice and patient. Make sure you have cash on hand. The best part is that its always fun driving through a giant donut! Makes me feel like a kid.
The Donut Hole has Fantastic Donuts!! Very Friendly Service, and an Iconic look. Nicely tucked away in La Puente, it features a really unique Donut Drive Thru. Pretty Awesome if you ask me!! Take some friends there, they will be Thrilled to enjoy these Great Confection's.
The Donut Hole was established in 1968. According to LA Conservancy, The Donut Hole is "a wood-and-stucco one-story commercial building split into two halves with a driveway in the middle, bracketed at each end by an enormous fiberglass donut. The driveway allows customers to drive right through the center to place and pick up their orders." This location was the 2nd of five Donut Hole locations and the only one that utilized donuts as part of the architecture. This is the only Donut Hole location still in operation today. The Donut Hole attracts people from all over the world to marvel at this place of beauty. Where else in the world, can you drive through two large donuts to buy donuts?! If you have children, I highly recommend you taking a mini adventure to experience this place in person. The donuts are pretty good as well. They are very affordable compared to other donut shops in the area. What we ordered: -Apple Fritter -Rainbow Donut -Raised Glazed -Cinnamon Crumb -Donut Holes It came out to less than $15 for 4 donuts and a bunch of Donut Holes. There's lot's of value in getting donuts from this shop as the donuts are very affordable. Come here snap some photos and brag to your friends that your drove through two large donuts.
Iconic drive thru donut shop, offering fresh donuts to La Puente since 1968. The distinct building, which is shaped like a donut, is a prime example of mid century Programmatic architecture. The business was once a chain with multiple locations, but today, this is the only remaining shop. I felt like a kid again as my husband and I drove through the giant fiberglass donut. Inside, a large case offers an impressive selection of donuts. They have all the classic cake and raised donuts you could hope to find, plus colorful decorated and fancy filled choices. 6 donuts set us back less than $15. They accept cash only. My favorite, ironically, were their donut holes. The bite sized pieces were fried to perfection, and drizzled in a crisp icing that was not overly sweet. The classic raised/glazed and chocolate cake were solid, and I loved the adorable rainbow decorated donut. The strawberries and cream filled donut was full of real, ripe strawberries. I hope The Donut Hole lives forever.
Fun neighborhood donut shop that is in the shape of a large donut. I think the only way to buy donuts from this place is by drive through...and through the giant donut hole. It's not just a novel way to get food - they have a good selection of different donuts as well. It should be noted that I think it's cash only. The service and operation is very similar to a fast food drive through. I came here because I heard of this place through a coworker and just wanted to drive through and get some donuts. I got a maple bar and a chocolate chip bar. I thought they were good! I think freshness depends on the time of day you go, but I will say that I went after lunch and the donuts I had seemed to be fresh. Again, I think the only way to order is through the drive through. There is minimal parking, but it's usually not necessary unless you plan to park and eat your donuts there I guess.
*CASH ONLY* To be honest I only stopped in because I was driving by and saw this giant donut tunnel and I just HAD to go check it out. The driveway is narrow and I was scraping my tire driving thru (Toyota Sienna van) so be careful. They offer a good variety of donuts - bigger than other donut shops. They also have croissants, breakfast sandwiches, and fancy donuts like smores and this cute rainbow donut. I ordered a bunch of stuff and when I was ready to pay with Apple Pay they said that they only take cash. I didn't notice the sign inside. So I found $5 in the car (I don't carry cash often) and drove away with one buttermilk donut. It was good, not mind blowing, but standard donut shop taste. I would not hesitate to come back with cash to try more of their offerings!
This place is exactly as advertised. It's a drive through a donut hole. I'm telling you, as a grown adult, I had a lot of fun driving through this and ordering my sweets. Service was fast as expected. There is no sit down area, so you get the donuts to go and be off on your way. This place is a treasure. Had plenty of laughs with the family.
